National Nonprofit Day is an annual commemoration held on August 17 in the US. This special holiday honors the selfless endeavors of organizations dedicated to making a positive impact. This is a topic very near and dear to our hearts at Danberry, especially as we gear up for our next Danberry Treasure Chest Gala which will be held on March 21, 2024. 

For nearly 30 years, the Danberry Treasure Chest (DTC) has been assisting local families whose children are receiving care at ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital. The DTC came to fruition in 1994 when Danberry CEO, Lynn Fruth, began fundraising efforts. In its very first year, the DTC raised $2,700 and has grown exponentially in the years that followed. Thanks to our very generous sponsors and dedicated Danberry family, the DTC has donated nearly $2M and provided aid to thousands of local families. 

Danberry Treasure Chest, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity. All proceeds benefit families going through financial hardships while their child struggles with a serious illness. Funds are used to cover rent, utilities, housing, car payments, and other financial stressors that families face. Our goal is to help minimize monetary burdens to allow parents to focus solely on their child's care. 

Our largest annual event is the Danberry Treasure Chest Gala which includes dinner and a charity auction hosted by our own Jack Amlin of Amlin Auction. We also host numerous other fundraisers throughout the year, such as our annual golf outing, guest bartending events, March Madness brackets, our Company Contribution Program, and more.
